We’re excited to partner with Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) for a special IN-PERSON Beginners Genealogy Workshop at the Georgia Archives on Saturday, November 8th at 9:00 AM.

The event will feature select clips from GPB’s upcoming documentary “Revolution,” highlighting untold stories from the American Revolution followed by a hands-on genealogy session to help you begin tracing your own family history.

Discover the inspiring stories of three African American genealogists who traced Revolutionary-era ancestry and earned membership in major lineage societies.

Join Jonnie Brown [Sons & Daughters of the United States Middle Passage (SDUSMP)], Devra Harney [The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)] and Jan Bryant [Society of First African Families of English America (SOFAFEA)], and as they discuss the research process, membership experience, and the significance of representation in heritage organizations.
